So we just had the fire alarm go off at work, and the sprinklers dumped basically all the water into the sublet who set off the alarm. The irony? It was a dry cleaner.
I heard the water kick in, and about a minute later the alarm starts wailing away. I take a look outside, and see the people from the dry cleaners start running big hampers of clothes into a truck. It was pretty obvious it was them.
We've got not one, but two Firetrucks! It's like a BOGO sale, without the spending!
And the fire inspector. He's not in a good mood.
Waiting to hear what really happened to set off the alarms.
But wait there's more!
There's a haircutting place, and a nail/mani/pedi salon also in the building, and we have absolutely no water pressure in the building right now.

Can you see what color the bulbs in the sprinkler heads are?

They look brass to me, but I do have issues recognizing some colors, and the ceilings are like 20 ft.
It's possible that the back room just got hotter and hotter until the sprinkler head just soaked up all the heat and went off.

When RX-8s get flooded the un-approved but highly successful method of getting them started and ridding the rotor chambers of fuel is to use ATF. Once the car starts LOTS AND LOTS of smoke happen.
Some doofus tech did it in the shop and after trying to get it outside quickly couldn't find 1st gear.... the smoke set off our smoke alarms and before we could call the monitoring company to cancel/false alarm, the fire department showed up.
With FOUR trucks. And the police.
Whoops.

I just ask because I worked in a fire safety/sprinkler engineering lab for a while and these things really shouldn't just "go off". Color would tell me what temp that the heads were seeing.

A full ladder response? How many floors is the building?

Basement, tenants, and there's an attic with the reverse cycle air conditioners/heaters. Attic is unfinished, the basement only covers half the building.

Ah, the bulbs face up, so I have a hard time seeing them. I'm not sure if there is one in the closet where they went off, but there must have been. I didn't really look at much, I didn't want to get soaked.
